IMPS :
IMPS (Immediate Payment Service) enables instant 24/7 interbank electronic fund transfers through mobile phones. A reliable method to transfer money instantly between banks across India using mobile, internet, and ATMs. IMPS is secure and cost-effective for financial and non-financial standpoints.
- The facility is provided by NPCI through its existing NFS switch. Pre-Requisites for Mobile Banking - IMPS Registration for Remitter.
Registration for Remitter :
Please comply the following to set up mobile banking :
- Register for the mobile banking service at your bank.
- Obtain your Mobile Money Identifier (MMID) and MPIN from the bank.
- Download the mobile banking application from the bank, making sure it is compatible with your mobile device. Alternatively, you can use the SMS facility for IMPS if the bank provides this service.
Registration for Beneficiary :
- Link your mobile number to the bank account at your nearest branch. Obtain the Mobile Money Identifier (MMID) from the bank.
For Remitter (To send money) Steps to be ollowed :
- Log in to the application and select the IMPS menu.
- If the bank provides IMPS on SMS, you can also use the SMS facility on your mobile.
- Obtain the Beneficiary's mobile number and MMID.
- Enter the Beneficiary's mobile number, beneficiary MMID, amount and your MPIN to send the money.
- Wait for an OTP confirmation SMS message for debit or credit in the account.
- Note the transaction reference number for any future queries.
For the Receiver (To receive money) Steps to be Followed :
Please provide your mobile number and MMID to the person sending you money. Request the remitter to remit the money using your mobile number and MMID. Once the transfer is completed. Check the SMS to ensure the credit to your account. Note the transaction reference number for future reference.
